My New Video Experiences...
Well, seeing as I have this blog, I might as well write stuff that I'll find useful if I need to refer back to it!
I've been working on some video editing.
I have some footage shot from my digital camera at QVGA (320x240@30fps), and it is stored as an mjpeg encoded AVI.
I've cut, sliced, and diced the video into a full on 'movie' albeit only a minute or so long.
The next step is to render the movie into a format suitable for a DVD player.
I've been looking into DVD, SVCD, and VCD so that I can have menus and all that, but when I render the video, the resultant disk plays back a little jerky! :-(
In my search for a solution, I found the following resources:
- Virtual Edit have a vaguely useful FAQ
- Video Help have a much more useful set of data
Anyway, it looks like I have a little bit of reading to do in order to understand what codecs to use, and what data rates are appropriate.
I'll get there slowly!
